A damp-proof course (DPC) is a horizontal barrier built into a wall, usually 150mm wide, to stop moisture rising. A damp-proof membrane (DPM) is a thicker continuous sheet laid under a solid floor to stop ground moisture. Both are typically made from polyethylene.
